Through a strategic and technological co-operation, Consilium and Navico will be able to develop high-tech navigation products and solutions to their existing customers offering innovative concept development and crossover products to the merchant and passenger vessel markets as well as the markets for fishing boats and yachts.

One of the first tasks is to significantly change the comprehension of short range radar target detection and processing, combining Consilium’s know-how from decades of IMO navigational radar experience with Navico’s sensor technology into a product for SOLAS vessels and work boats.

The system will, among other features, offer a unique piracy detection functionality that will significantly increase the possibility to detect and avoid pirate attacks on commercial vessels. More information regarding the new product will be available in connection with product launch.
