Smoke detectors for heavy vehicles with timer functionality

Remote operation

Consiliums NDI-E is an optical smoke detector, which gives alarm when there are smoke particles in the detector. The NDI-E is also equipped with a warning for low battery voltage, which will be indicated by a short buzzer every 40^th second.

Buzzer

The buzzer has two sound levels. In case of an alarm during driving, the buzzer starts at a lower level and increases after approximately15 seconds, taking the traffic security in consideration.

Handling alarm

In case of an alarm, the buzzer sound with a pulsating signal, which can be stopped by quickly pushing the smoke detector’s function button. The detector’s timer function is now turned on and the cause of the alarm may be investigated.

Timer

The timer function is turned on by pushing the function button quickly. This function will shut off alarm signals during 10 minutes and is intended for driving in dusty environment and/ or for drivers who whish to smoke.

In timer position, a short signal buzzer will sound every 40^th second during 10 minutes until it is turned off automatically or by pushing the function button.

Battery

The battery in the detector is automatically supervised. When the voltage level becomes too low to secure the function, a short signal will be sound every 40^th second.

Service

Approximately one month before the battery is empty, short signal will be sound. The detector will function normally during this period but the battery shall be changed immediately in order to guarantee the function of the detector.
