Consilium Korea has won Fire and Gas Detection orders for two 3,100 TEU LNG powered container ships. This is the first container vessel ever built with this design. The vessels will operate on either fuel oil or gas derived from LNG, which will significantly decrease emissions while increasing fuel efficiency as compared to conventionally-powered ships.
The Fire and Gas Detection system will cover the LNG tanks, the accommodation and the engine room. The vessels will be equipped with totally 45 gas detectors and 240 fire detectors, all connected to our brand new Salwico GS5000 Gas Detection System and Salwico Cargo Fire Detection System. Both are based on the CCP platform.
The ships will be designed by DSEC; a subsidiary of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), located in Busan, South Korea.
The design will be based on proven container ship design standards and will include DSME's patented LNG fuel gas system and a MAN ME-GI dual fuel slow speed engine.
